Big Blue Swing's first fund drive, Starting Today!

Hey everyone!

Well this is going to be a first all round this weekend. The first time we're setting down into a real website, with real content. And, we're kicking off our very first Fund Drive.

Some of you have no doubt been wondering how we've managed to build a premium internet radio station, running 24 hours a day, with no advertising. Well, we've been fortunate enough to have some philanthropic donors that have covered our expenses until recently. It's allowed us to build a great collection of music, and programming, all the while not having to worry about how we're going to pay for everything. Well, as these things go, our care-free money days have come to an end.

And so the time has come, that we need to reach out to our listeners for help to keep the music flowing. We've grown from our original server, into a second server recently. That doesn't quite double our expenses, but comes close. Add on to it the cost of studio equipment upkeep, new music, day to day incidentals, and all those special expenses that come with running an internet radio station, and well, things starts looking like kinda significant.

One thing that we're absolutely blessed with, is great listeners who do our advertising for us. We haven't dropped money into advertising in over two years, and yet our numbers continue to clime every day! That's grass-roots marketing at it's finest. Build a good product, and let the people that appreciate it tell their friends.

But, as for the rest of our expenses, we're kicking off a fund drive today to help cover those costs, and allow us to start planning for the future. There's some big items being kicked around for the next few years. Some big events, maybe even an exchange or two. Who knows what crazy idea our DJ's will come up with next.

So, will you help us push forward into the next phase?

One thing I do need to point out to everyone before I finish this note. At this time we do NOT have 501(c)3 status with the IRS, however we are applying for it, and plan to have it in the future. At this time donations made to Big Blue Swing would generally NOT be considered tax deductible.
